H0vis Is this just a way to get around having to interview young people?

sqerdagent No, age discrimination only kicks in at 40. This is probably just a case of taking the person who quit/retired and using them as the benchmark

SheDrinksScotch And its only illegal if its discrimination against old people. Discrimination against young people is legal.

glasgowgeg No, age discrimination only kicks in at 40 The US is such an odd country where your age discrimination laws are discriminatory based on age themselves.

ashizzzle How much do you think they paid the person who had thirty years experience before? Doubtful they stuck around that long if they were only paid $19 an hour

Sad_Emphasis_8086 I've gotten nothing but spam calls since using Indeed this year! It's so frustrating and 95% of the listings are nothing but nonsense like this one. It's crazy. My dad's in his late 60s and he's told me that job hunting has always been h_l. He can remember having difficulties since the early 2000s and he says the only way he's been ever able to have a job was by knowing people, especially after he became a US citizen. And yeah, almost every job he's had was because he knew some

-CrimsoN- Not to diss on your father's experiences, but those issues he's experienced definitely haven't gone away. But now there is also Al on top of everything and algorithms where if you don't match certain keywords, your application is automatically discarded before an actual human being even gets to glance at it and place it in the "rejection" pile. Can't even get to that point now with many jobs. I'd say it's far worse today than it ever was in the early 2000s simply because of that. Knowi

gottemupthetime OP Honestly so far in my journey of looking for a better job has just been sketchy companies calling me all the time. Then I have to go out if my way to figure out if I want to work in something I don't want to do just to gain the experience to do something I love and want to do. And Indeed is alot of garbage with a diamond in the rough sometimes. I have been trying to attend more conventions and symposium and sh like that but I guess one step at a time amirite?

chainshot91 Ive only gotten one job through indeed. The rest are from career fairs or looking at the companies own website. A friend let me know indeed just uses ai to find job openings and it doesn't do a good job of filling them out, so I'm it pointless to use the "apply through indeed".

Desiome It's so they can declare that no one is fit for the job and get someone from across the sea with zero experience or certification. Been happening for years...

Dredge18 Its ridiculous because they should have the same hiring process that american people have to go through. 15 to 30 years should apply to them too. Changing the requirements after filtering out a certain peoples should be punishable.

mere iguana when it says "$16-$19" that means $16
